This learning tour invited Native and non-native relatives, from all backgrounds, to witness biodiversity work firsthand. Attendees had the opportunity to learn about projects being pursued by the Prairie Island Indian Community and the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community as they ventured out of downtown and were welcomed to their home communities.
This tour highlighted the work of three Native-led nonprofits and the system-shifting work, as well as the collaborative partnerships, they've forged in the local community. Attendees werelucky enough to join Indigenous Foods Lab, Owámniyomni Okhódayapi, and Wakan Tipi Awanyankapi at their sites throughout the metro area.
